Neema Gospel Choir Marks 33 Years of Ministry with a Spirit-Filled Thanksgiving Celebration

June 15, 2025 – AIC Chang’ombe Church, Dar es Salaam

The sanctuary of AIC Chang’ombe Church resounded with praise, gratitude, and celebration as Neema Gospel Choir marked 33 years of impactful gospel music ministry during a powerful and joyful Thanksgiving Sunday service. This milestone, celebrated under the theme of Thanksgiving and Seed Sowing, brought together worshipers, ministers, and well-wishers from across Tanzania.

A Celebration Overflowing with Thanksgiving

The service began with a heartfelt prayer by Pastor Joseph Mayala Mitinje, inviting God’s presence and blessing upon the day. The atmosphere was electrified with praise as the choir ministered alongside anointed guests including:

AIC Chang’ombe Choir – CVC (the home church choir)

Upendo Kihayile (from Dar es Salaam)

Minister Eliya Mwantondo (from Arusha)

Minister Rachel Johnson (from Dodoma)

Minister Henrick Mruma

Each song selection carried the spirit of thanksgiving, acknowledging God’s faithfulness through the choir’s 33-year journey. The service highlighted not only a celebration of the past but also a vision for the future.

Thanksgiving with a Purpose: Sowing Into the Next Generation

At the heart of the celebration was the “Thanksgiving Sawing Seed” initiative. This year, the focus was to extend love and support to a local orphanage in Buza, Temeke – Dar es Salaam, through Neema Gospel Choir’s internal community impact program known as: Inspire, Empower, Transform – For a Better World

As part of this initiative, cash donations and essential supplies were collected and handed over to Real Life International Ministry, the organization running the orphanage. This act of kindness underscored the choir’s commitment not only to musical excellence but also to social responsibility and kingdom impact.

Leadership, Legacy, and Vision

The Chairman of the choir and overseer board member, Mr. Mabamba, delivered a moving speech outlining the choir’s milestones — from national recognition and awards to impactful performances. He also announced the choir’s upcoming live recording project planned for November 2025, energizing members and supporters with a clear vision forward.

In her remarks, Miss Mary Protace, spokesperson for Neema Gospel Choir, led a touching segment to recognize the eight founding members of the choir. Certificates of appreciation were awarded in their honor, with heartfelt remembrance given to those who have since been glorified.

Special Highlights and Partners

A beautiful surprise during the event was the free provision of an LED screen by MMEvents Company, which greatly enhanced the visual experience and added to the celebratory atmosphere. This unexpected blessing was received with deep gratitude and acknowledged as a powerful seed sown into the ministry’s future.
