The Technical Director deals with the management of all technical activities (singing and music) within the choir, ensuring the choir remains or grows in standards and quality in important technical areas. The position contributes directly to the 2nd objective of the strategic plan: “Strengthening the creativity and efficiency of singing.”

 

The main task.

Musical Direction: Provide artistic and technical leadership in music-related aspects, including vocal techniques, harmonies, dynamics, and overall musicality.

 

Rehearsal Management: Organize and lead choir rehearsals, ensuring efficient use of time, effective communication of instructions, and fostering a collaborative and supportive atmosphere among choir members.

 

Performance Planning and Execution: Collaborate with the Choir Director and other relevant stakeholders in planning performances, selecting repertoire, and determining technical requirements for each event. Oversee technical aspects during performances to ensure smooth execution and exceptional quality.

 

Vocal Coaching: Conduct individual and group vocal coaching sessions to enhance the choir members’ singing abilities, harmonization, blending, and overall vocal performance.

 

Music Arrangement: Collaborate with musicians and composers to arrange and adapt music pieces for the choir, ensuring they align with the choir’s style and abilities.

 

Technical Training: Identify areas for technical improvement within the choir and develop training programs to enhance members’ technical skills, such as breath control, pitch accuracy, diction, and stage presence.

 

Sound and Equipment Management: Oversee the maintenance and operation of sound systems and musical equipment used by the choir, ensuring they are in optimal condition and meet the technical requirements of performances.

 

Collaboration and Networking: Build relationships with other musicians, industry professionals, and organizations to foster collaboration opportunities, stay updated on industry trends, and explore new avenues for the choir’s growth and development.

 

Performance Evaluation: Regularly assess the choir’s technical performance, provide constructive feedback, and implement strategies to continually improve and meet the objectives outlined in the strategic plan.

 

Professional Development: Stay informed about current trends, innovations, and best practices in choral music and technical production through continuous learning and professional development activities.
